Matcha Green Tea Preparation Guide
HOW TO MAKE TRADITIONAL MATCHA TEA [USUCHA]
- Swift 1 to 2 teaspoons of Pristine Leaf Matcha powder in a warm bowl. Press the whisk down/back of spoon break up lumps if do not have a strainer for smoother tea.
- Heat water just below boiling point, about 165°F-180°F (75°C-80°C). Boiling water is not suitable for Matcha as it can burn the tea. Pour 3-4 ounces of hot water in a separate tea cup, this will also warm up tea cup for Matcha. Do not pour hot water into tea bowl with Matcha all at once.
- Slowly 2 to 3 oz of pre-boiling water into tea bowl, this will prevent the Matcha from clumping. Also, hot water warms up tea cup making it ready for tea. You may want to dry the warm tea cup with a clean towel.
- Whisk the tea rapidly for 10 to 15 seconds with a “chasen” (bamboo whisk) using zigzag motion, like letter M or W. Simply an up and down motion will do as well. This will give foamy tea. For smoother tea, use circular motion to whisk. You may like to use Pristine Leaf hand-held Electric Milk Frother to create Matcha tea foam.
- Pour the tea back into the tea cup, add more water to taste as desired and drink it immediately. Enjoy Your Traditional Matcha!
MAKING QUICK MATCHA TEA WITH FROTHER
- Add any of our Pristine Leaf Ceremonial Matcha or Flavored Single Servings Matcha to a cup.
- Add any sweetener (sugar/honey/any sweetener), if desired.
- Add 3-4 oz. of hot water, about 165°F-180°F (75°C-80°C) and whisk it. use Pristine Leaf Handheld Electric Matcha/Milk Frother for faster even mixing.
- Add more water if desired.
- Optional: Top it up with ice for Iced Matcha.

MAKING QUICK MATCHA ANYTIME ANYWHERE TO GO
Step 1: POUR IT! Pour in bottle of water [Hot/Cold water]. Add any sweetener, if desired.

MAKING INSTANT MATCHA LATTE (HOT/ICED)
- Add your ceremonial or favorite flavored Pristine Leaf Matcha in a Cup. Add any sweetener (sugar/honey/any sweetener), if desired.
- Add 3-4 oz. of hot water, about 165°F-180°F (75°C-80°C) and whisk it. use Pristine Leaf Handheld Electric Matcha/Milk Frother for faster even mixing.
- Add your choice of Milk, Hot/Warm Milk for hot lattes/ Ice cold milk for cold lattes. You can add 2% Milk, Whole Milk, Almond Milk, Coconut Milk, Camel Milk, Goat Milk, Soy Milk, or Any other Milk.
- Mix it. For best results, use Pristine Leaf Handheld Electric Matcha/Milk Frother for 10s-30s or Until you Get Desired Consistency.
- Optional: Top it up with ice for Iced Latte.

1.] Matcha doesn't necessarily entirely dissolve in water, it's powdered tea leaf after all & it tends to settle bit on bottom, if not mixed well or consumed immediately.
